The basic route from crude oil to oil is generally as follows:

1. Crude oil is first divided into straight distillates according to the boiling point requirements of different products, and then the non-ideal components of these distillates are removed according to the quality standards of the products;
2. Through chemical reaction transformation, the required components are generated and a series of qualified petroleum products are obtained.

The processes commonly used in petroleum refining are atmospheric and vacuum distillation, catalytic cracking, delayed coking, hydrocracking, solvent asphalt, hydrorefining, and catalytic reforming.
